English Essentials - Essay Writing

This Secondary 3 English course covers the topic on ‘essay writing’ from the O level syllabus 2022. Yan Pin, our Secondary 3 English tutor, will build your understanding on this topic. Yan Pin will cover the basics of essay writing by running through an introduction to ‘fact-based essays and writing’. He will then share essay formats, examples and exercises. Yan Pin will guide your child every step of the way and build your child’s understanding of essay writing. Yan Pin will teach your child steps to plan a good essay, how to write a strong and effective introduction to their essay and ways to write the body paragraphs. Yan Pin will also teach argumentative writing and essays and look closely at counterarguments and rebuttals. He will explore logical fallacies so that your child learns what a good rebuttal is and is able to write one at the end of the course. Yan Pin will also cover conclusions and teach your child ways to structure their ending. These steps will allow your child to expand their essay writing skills and become a more effective story-teller!
